On 18 March 2020, the Finnish Government announced the postponement of the supplier mandate in line with the European Standard due to COVID-19. Now, starting 1 April 2021, all invoices to the government must meet the European Standard.

The new amendment (1031/2020) took effect on 21 December 2020 and applies through 30 April 2021.

The Finnish Government pushes back the deadline for new e-Invoicing Act

Introduction of the new Finnish e-Invoicing Act will be postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. E-invoicing formats that do not line up with the Act will be accepted until further notice, but businesses are still encouraged to align with the EU standards as soon as possible.
