Quick questions for a Marketing Coordinator

Charey Ryatt is our brilliant and adventurous marketing coordinator stationed in Dubai. Her mission is to shape and localise our global marketing message towards the Middle East, African and Asian regions, to ensure that our customers are met with helpful content that resonates with their business needs.

Why did you decide to work at Pagero?
I heard about the opportunity through a friend and it was spot on with what I was looking for as the next step in my career. A great role within an exciting company with huge growth opportunities. I started working at Pagero in April 2020 – amongst the madness of the global pandemic!

What made you want to move from the UK to take this position in Dubai?
Dubai intrigued me, as does the entire Middle East, and so I thought…why not? I think having lived in the USA and South Korea whilst studying at University, I’ve always had the desire to get back out exploring the world again and having the full experience of living and working in a new environment. So far, it’s been great and I’m really enjoying the opportunities meeting and working with new people.

What motivates you most in your work?
No day is the same and each market I work with is very different. I’m constantly learning and adapting, which keeps me motivated. I work very closely with our Direct Sales team which allows me to get a clearer understanding of their needs, as well as use their knowledge of the market to help me shape new creative content for campaigns.

What’s the best thing about Pagero and working here?
The people. It really does feel like a family. Despite being many time zones ahead and behind from our global teams, the communication, support and learning opportunities I’ve experienced from our global colleagues has been amazing – especially given the circumstances with the pandemic.

What would you consider to be the most awesome tech invention from the last century?
Mobile contactless payment! There have been countless times where I’ve left my debit cards in different purses, or it’s hidden at the bottom of a bag. Using my phone to pay contactless has been a lifesaver for me, plus purchasing certain items instantly has never been easier.

If you could choose one person, living or dead, to have dinner with – who would it be?
Sir David Attenborough – thanks to his documentaries, we have learnt so much about the natural world. Especially with the Blue Planet docuseries showing the horrible effects of plastic waste – a real eye-opener for the world. Aside from talking about his experiences filming these documentaries with his team, I would love to learn more about his life and what David likes to do for fun!
