Danish Business Authority launches review of the future for OIOUBL

On June 26, 2025, the Danish Business Authority announced a review of the national OIOUBL e-invoicing format and the Nemhandel infrastructure. Following the postponement of OIOUBL 3.0, the authority is now considering a minor update instead of a major release and will assess whether Denmark still requires a national format and infrastructure in light of Peppol’s increasing adoption.

Denmark expands digital bookkeeping obligation to encompass additional entities

Denmark has broadened the digital bookkeeping regulations to include companies without a requirement to submit financial reports. The expansion comes after strong support during public consultation, resulting in two new executive orders mandating the extension. Starting January 1, 2026, the changes will affect approximately 118,000 additional businesses.

The final release of OIOUBL 3 is postponed to October 2025

The final release of OIOUBL 3, scheduled for April 10, 2025, has been delayed. The new expected release date is now set to October 2025.
