The UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) has made significant progress in its digital transformation with the introduction of a CTC e-invoicing mandate. The UAE's new e-invoicing system will implement a decentralized 5-corner model, utilizing the Peppol network. This system ensures seamless and secure invoice exchange through certified providers, supporting interoperability and compliance. With accreditation processes starting in Q4 2024, legislative updates in Q2 2025, and Phase 1 going live in Q2 2026, businesses must prepare early. Recent legislative amendments, including Federal Decree-Law No. 17 of 2024, update definitions, enforce compliant tax invoices for input VAT recovery, and impose penalties for non-compliance. As a Peppol-certified provider, Pagero offers solutions to help businesses stay compliant and adapt to these evolving regulations.
