B2G e-invoicing has been mandatory in France since 2017. The French Tax Authority (DGFIP) initially announced their intention to mandate countrywide e-invoicing and e-reporting starting 1 July 2024. However, the start date for the transition has been postponed by the French Ministry of Economy and Finance. This decision was made to ensure a smooth process and adequate time for preparation, with a new starting date expected to be announced in 2024. With this digital reform, France aims to reduce the VAT gap (ca. EUR 13 billion), help businesses reduce invoice and payment processing costs and boost overall productivity in compliance with Chorus Pro.
